Dearest family and friends,
This week was crazy. It started with a lesson with two of our investigators who are very prepared for baptism yelling at each other and questioning their entire marital relationship. We left that lesson feeling very rough. We prayed for them the entire week. On Sunday, we received news from Luis that they had called him to say that they worked everything out. That`s the short version. I`m just so glad for the power of prayer. I know that without a focus on the gospel and real intent to be baptized, this couple could`ve been subject to some very difficult times. I know our prayers and the prayers of their member friends helped them to overcome this difficult time.
We had special training this week. Great classes and an interview with President Robertson. We talked about how my Spanish was coming along well, leadership, and all of the great things I was seeing on the mission. He told me ``Glad you`re representing us southern boys well.`` That was high praise for me. He also more or less said that either I or Elder Millett will be leaving next transfer so that`s sad, but all good things must come to an end I guess.
Something else I thought of this week that I guess I never really realized is that God exists. OK that`s basic doctrine, but have you ever thought about how God and Jesus Christ ARE somewhere. That they have physical, perfected bodies and that they are actually somewhere right now. I don`t know. I just thought it very cool that God and Jesus Christ ARE somewhere right now walking around and doing stuff.
Also, shoutout to the primary children in Sister Parker`s class for sending me a ton of encouraging notes. Very cute.
Needless to say, I`ve been very blessed. I`m having a great time out here and I hope that you guys continue to progress and work hard at home. 1/8th done. Love you guys!

QandA
Best lesson you taught last week?
We taught The Restoration to a family last week and it was super great. They were all very funny people and they were very interested. We taught incredibly well, the spirit was there, and the daughter kept saying ``Wow`` as we introduced the first vision and the preisthood.
How is patience playing a part in your progress?
Well, funny story. I`ve been so focused on having patience a lot on the mission. I like to just work hard and get things done. Often times, results come as a result of what we put in. The worst is when you are doing everything correctly, you are worthy, and you are working really hard, but results don`t come. It`s ok though. I`m working hard to stay in control of my mood and focus on the work. Although results don`t come, I`m staying dilligent.
Favorite member of the ward and why?
BROTHER ALVAREZ. The man works for the ____. His wife cooks amazing food. We pretty much hold weekly FHE`s at his house and they are always amazing. They have cute little kids that I can`t pick up. They are just a family of studs. We love them and they love us and it`s really just the best.
Something funny that happened this week that had to do with an animal?
Elder Millett`s hand swole up because he got scratched by a cat. Also the Salchicha (weiner dog) that the Alvarezes have was terrorizing children at the last Family Home Evening we had, even though it`s super small.
Share your testimony of repentance.
Let`s talk about Repentance. The ability to repent stems from Christ`s sacrifice for us at the end of his perfect mortal life. Repentance is all about setting right an imbalance. Without the sacrifice of Christ, the laws of justice would overpower the laws of mercy and we would be consigned to endless misery. However, Christ did succeed in his sacrifice and now we have the Atonement. We can use the Atonement to repent of our sins and right the imbalance of guilt and remorse in our lives. We can be freed from these problems and know that God remembers them no more. Repentance extends even past sin and can be used to change our very natures. Christ made this sacrifice to allow us to overcome sin just like he did and eventually to be made perfect just like he is. Repentance helps us to progress. Without it, we are eternally stuck because of our inability to live a perfect life. Thankfully, we have the Atonement and although we aren`t perfect, we can always continue to try ``for no failure ever need be final.``
