This week was really great. It was also incredibly hot. I really need to start bringing water with me when I go out. ANNNNDDDD they`re playing Hotel California right now... Anyways, I come home hot and wake up sweating in the mornings. Hope I survive the summer.
I barely had enough time to think up until about Friday because we were working so hard. I realize that one of my favorite parts of the mission is to teach the message of the Restoration to someone new. And I got to do that about 15 times this week. We have just been all over the place to be honest. I`m still working on being positive and feeling the spirit.
This weekend, I was given the opportunity to baptize our investigator, Yennifer. She is so awesome. Her sisters weren`t going to get baptized, but we were patient with them and after seeing Yennifer get baptized, they`re going to follow suit this Friday. It was really awesome to be dressed in all white. I get kind of upset that I have to stain and mess up all these nice shirts that I have, so it was a really good change of pace to be completely unstained. Of course that has a Gospel tie in. We aren`t supposed to be dirty. It`s not comfortable. We don`t just shower once a week to stay clean. We try to shower every day. We try to repent every day. No matter how dirty you are, if you have the right stuff, at the end of the day we can wash all the dirt away.
I fasted as well while I baptized. Man it was tough to get through post baptism refreshments and the empanadas that the other Elders ordered without eating or drinking anything. The heat didn`t exactly help my thirst either, but I made it and I`m glad I did. I fasted for a lot of things and now being able to see all the messages from home, I see that fasting really does have a lot of power. God really does answer prayers.
Elder Jarrìn is staying my companion for another transfer. We`re going to be baptizing a ton this month. He is now a district leader. It`s going to be crazy.
Love you guys. Hope that everyone is taking part in the church`s Christmas campaign ``Light the World.`` (Click here to watch it.) Hope that it`s a white Christmas. Hope that we remember what it`s really all about. Until next week,
-Elder Sultan
