This week was good. We worked super hard. It`s starting to get really hot here. It`s only spring. I`m going to be dying in the summer. We met some past converts from my trainer Elder Millett. They were very receptive and nice to us. We met Anibal an 82 year-old man who can barely walk, but still managed to cook us some of the best food that I`ve had here. He`s a character. He told us a whole bunch of mind benders and guessing game things, but it was all in Spanish. Surprisingly, I kept up pretty well. Unless it was wordplay. Still don`t have enough vocabulary to handle that.
I had a really hard day Thursday. To be completely honest, I cried in the middle of a lesson. I didn`t break down, but there were tears enough that our investigator took notice. It was awful. The handle bar on my bicycle broke off so I had been riding with one hand. I almost crashed a couple of times. I was tired. I wasn`t performing nearly as well as I wanted to. It was really hot. As we taught, I felt like we were just arguing with her and that she wasn`t really understanding anything. Then her 3 year old came over and spit on me. That`s about when I lost my ability to hold back tears. ``Elder Sultan are you ok?`` ``Yeah. I`m just crying.``
I love the church. Something that really hit me this week was the reality of an eternal family. I am so happy to know that my family and I will be together forever. My mother is a saint. My word. For those of you who haven`t done so today, call your mother and tell her you love her because there are some of us out here who don`t have the opportunity to do so. I can promise you that it`ll make both your day and her day better.
Scriptures that I enjoyed this week. Ether 12:41 ``I commend you to seek Jesus.`` Moroni chapter 7: Miracles have not ceased.
Man, I love you guys. I hope that you live your lives in a way that will give you joy both now and for the eternities. Que Dios les bendiga.
