This week was not what I expected. I was expecting a week in which I would have to work to find something to do. Then President called.
He told us that this week we would be having a flash. It´s basically the moving around of elders outside of a transfer. Also, we had to send 3 people home. So we ended up staying up really late on Tuesday and Wednesday working on that. It was fun. There´s not a lot I can talk about with this. I worked hard. People got where they needed to go. No one yelled at me. Job well done.
We´ve really been trying to work with the ward here and to be honest, they´re shaping up to be really cool. The bishop had correlation with us this Friday because we don´t have a ward mission leader. He was really pumped to do the work. We´re really just trying so hard to get them to like us and help us. We had the funniest lunch this Sunday because the brother who gave us lunch (Hermano Mamone) is really Porteño. I´m not quite sure how to describe the temperament of a Porteño. Think really dry humor almost on the point of hurtful and a strong personality. It was pretty interesting. The whole lunch turned into almost a competition to make him like us. I was already in good favor because I sat with him in Elder´s Quorum and joked around with him a bit. Whenever there were decisions to be made, he´d just look at me. Example- ´´Elder Sultan, do the other elders want more chips?´´ Me- ´´Yeah they do.´´ It´s kind of tough to explain, but it was a fun experience.
We´re focusing in on family history here in the ward. I think it´s a great approach for us here. It´s something that the members can use easily. They can invite their friends to come and participate. Very few people actually have that little My Family book filled out. It´s perfect! We´ll be working on that with the ward here for a good while.
Wow. That was my week. It doesn´t look so big when I write it all down. We had 2 investigators in church, and that was a miracle. They enjoyed themselves thoroughly and will be making a return trip next Sunday. I got peer-pressured into going to the zoo again last week. The road trip was worth it. Good stuff. I love you guys. I hope you all have a fantastic week.
Elder Sultan
PS There´s a pic of me on a tractor because my grandad CE got a tractor. Love that guy.
Q and A
The mission had a good lot of people who completed the challenge to read the Book of Mormon. Their responses to the message I sent still make me laugh.
Yes all the missionaries who change their areas need to pass through the offices first. I´m in charge of getting them here and getting them out. And getting them materials. And feeding the people who can´t quite get back out. Yeah transfers are fun for me.
The members give us a vianda! Vianda is basically like a lunch to go. We drive by their house and get the food. It´s tough because we can´t really get to know them, but we´re working on that still.
In the evening no. Usually just at lunch because...
...we start proselyting at 5 pm when office hours end. On weekends we get the whole day to work and generally try to schedule a sit down lunch.
Yes. All accounts should be perfectly balanced. I pretty much pay for everything in cash so my accounts have to be pretty well detailed. Ask for a receipt!
6:30 wake up and exercise 7:00-8:00- eat and shower 8:00-9:00- personal study 9:00-9:30-Comp study and planning 9:30-10:00- Lang study 10:30- offices. That´s the ideal. It generally doesn´t happen quite like that.
HA. No we walk everyday unless there´s an elder that´s hurt that needs a ride to our pension.
Just a washer.
