Estimados hermanos y hermanas,
This week was great. I work in the offices still. Everyday is something different, nonetheless it´s difficult to write a scintillating letter to you people on driving and sitting in a chair. I think you already get enough of that on a daily basis. I´ll try to make it interesting.
This Thursday we cleaned out an old pension. It was filled with clothes and Hermana Robertson (the Mission President´s wife) came to help us throw things out. They told us to come in work clothes so I came. Every one else wore missionary clothes and decided to change there. I was the only one in a t-shirt and jeans when a ton of elders started showing up for documentation work and interviews. Then in came President and his wife. The first thing they said to me was ´´so I guess you´ll be one of the ones helping us clean out the pension.´´ ´´Yes. Yes Ma´am.´´ Haha. It´s always fun to be in regular clothes in the mission. We then went and threw a ton of clothing into bags and put it on one of the street corners. It was all gone the next day.
There´s an elder here in the offices because he had to have and operation on his feet. This week he tried to convince me, and I quote, that ´´all of the southern states are basically just trying to copy Alabama. Alabama is the best southern state.´´ HA. We put a stop to that talk quick. The Peach State is the best state.
I got a basics lesson in driving a stick shift about an hour ago. It´s really hard learning new things and driving a clutch is not easy. I had a serious flashback to the south when the elder who was teaching me said, ´´Yeah. So your main problem is that you don´t like taking your foot of the clutch. Don´t ride the clutch.´´ That is something that my mom used to say, and I never really understood it until now. It was a good learning moment for me.
This week we´re getting ready for a whole bunch of Zone Conferences. Basically, President Robertson wants to say goodbye to everyone. I´ll be taking care of/planning those, pretty much this whole week. Plus, we´re coming up on the end of this short transfer. That means that we all have a bunch of extra work and I´m going to be writing you all this Saturday so that I can work Monday. It´s a party.
Anyways, other than that, it was a pretty nice week. Didn´t really get too stressed except with the driving a little bit. I´m having a great time out here. I love what I do, and I love serving the people of Argentina. I love serving the missionaries here. If you want to put a smile on two faces at the same time, do service. I love you guys. Stay happy. Until next week,
