Week 70 God is in the Details

Fun and Followers,

This week was a good one. I feel like we´ve really found a good balance between office and field work. It was a little strange because this week President Resek was in a Mission President seminar, so he couldn´t really take calls or emails to answer questions.

It´s voting day here in Argentina tomorrow. Voting here is mandatory, and we´re trying to keep all of our beloved Argentine missionaries legal. It´s been fun.

I would say that the main happening of the week was a service project that we did with Adriana who recently got baptized. She´s great. We tried to organize well, but it ended up being us 4 missionaries trying to help her accomplish various things such as, ´´paint´´ her patio and outside wall (We actually used lacquer. I´m not sure why. She told us to), put up wall paper inside, and paint a side room. It was madness. I´m pretty sure that no one really had any idea what they were doing except for Elder Aldana who, at least once in his life, has put up wallpaper. I think the best quote of the day goes to Adriana saying, ´´It´s ok. Just put it up there and we´ll go creating as we go. Everything looks great!´´ I really do hope that all turns out well.

Other than that, it´s been a pretty normal week. Elder Tanner and I have really put in a strong effort to plan our days out very well, and it´s yielding a pretty big return. I´m very pleased with the results that we´re seeing in our area, and I know that the Lord puts miracles in our paths daily. Just the other day as we walked to lunch a lady stopped us and asked if we could visit her home another day to help her get closer to God. We accepted, and she was waiting when we came to visit her. Another night as we were just getting home, Elder Tanner got a call from a man named ´´Rafael´´ who said that we stopped him in the street, talked with him, and gave him a card. We do that with lots of people. What we don´t do is get calls from them saying that they´ll be at church on Sunday and we should wait up for them. We´ll be looking for him in church tomorrow.

I studied diligence this morning in my personal study. I´ve always loved the quality of diligence. There´s a quote from Preach my Gospel that says, ´´When you are diligent, you find joy and satisfaction in your work.´´ I can testify of that. Diligence brings happiness and joy especially in the service of the Lord. I know that God is pleased when we give our all. Accompanying that quote is a scripture that says, 27 "Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness." Being diligent requires effort and requires that we think and act before being pushed or forced to do something. God has given man his agency, and He expects us to use it.

I had a great week. I love you guys. I hope that you find answers to what you´re looking for. God is in the details. Until next week,

-Elder Sultan

Jack skyped us from a member's home (and computer).

Elder Tanner also got to skype home. Looks as if he had a fun call home.

Elder Sultan has Preparation Day (so he's in a t-shirt) but the other elders must not have P-Day.
