Week 32 Schedule Changes

For my family and my friends (same thing right?),

This week, we hit a mile stone. 7 months into my mission and I have been told by an Argentine abuelita that I look like and talk like an Argentine. Not too sure how good her ears and eyes are, but I`ll take that as a huge win. Happy to have someone tell me that I`m progressing with the language.

Seeing as I`m mainly in charge of planning where we go and what we do during the week, I was mildly upset when the mission office told us that we weren`t going to have the worldwide training on the planned day, and then suddenly told us (after they watched it and realized how important it was) that we would come to the mission office and see it the next day. Although the plans got a bit damaged, it was worth it. Lots of good training on how we, as missionaries, can improve our teaching. Best part were the schedule changes. We now can get an hour more of sleep every night if we want. Just so that you know, I want. Preparation Day (Pday) now starts at 8:00 am instead of 10:30 so that is awesome. This morning we deep cleaned the pension, and it looks super nice now.

The schedule changes also give a ton more of autonomy in the mission. We get to choose what we really want to do, and we have to follow the Spirit a great deal more. Elder Salmon shared with me DyC 58:26-28 (click here to read it) about being our own agents and doing good because we want to. I love that scripture especially because it was an EFY theme one of the years that I went.

Once again, we had no one in church. We even went biking in the campo in the morning to go look for investigators. No one showed up. As sacrament ended, we said goodbye to everyone and were going to get our bikes when Elder Meyers came around the corner and asked if the old lady at the front was from our side. We came around the corner and there stood one of our investigators. I am reminded of a classic Coach Statham quote ``LATE. See me after practice.`` I kid. We were super happy to see her. Got to give her a tour of the chapel and teach her in one of the classrooms. Even though she was going through a really hard situation and I was starving, we taught her a great lesson.

I`m doing alright out here in Argentina. I hope that we`re all doing well at home. Know that I love you all and that I`m still working hard. Until next week,
